is being delayed by several RL stuff.
Yesterday it was simply late ,today there is simply no time.
But tomorrow! I am excited about writing it, so I can kinda close it and be prepared for LAMB!
Also: PTX is a cruel thing...
So this is going to be an entry just about the usual. Two insane mentally tired vet gets 12 hours in Vienna, and that includes a Patrick Wolf gig, a couple of Christmas faires, photographs and some insane phrases :like “swinging is good” “baritone frogs singing the saxophone solo of the city”.
On Saturday Greg strictly forbid us to follow Patrick on his tour. "You cannot go near the stage in case you find yourself touching this Magical Patrick's ankle and then you decide to stand in as vocalists and you go touring with them. Please do come home on Monday, OK?"
So yesterday morning I drove to Eszti’s, left Szeti there. Eszti became a bit of morose when her mum escorted Szeti away without saying goodbye to her. We drove in my car to the P+R section of te train station. There was a bit of confusion in my head so I nearly picked up some guy in the bus stop when I forgot to take a right turn. We managed to go the right way in the end I dropped E. at the shop and I went to find a parking place. Then our train came and we travelled to the main station. It appeared there were some filming taking place. Sadly our ticket machine was right at the edge of the shot. As we tried to get to the machine a strict security guard stood in our way and then he let us pass:”Go on then quickly”. Unfortunately the machine was occupied by an extra and by the time I could get my tickets a really hysterical assistant came to us. “We are trying to make a commercial here, what do you do?”
Well we were trying to get our tickets kthx!
We got onto the train, Eszti manicured and then we slept. We woke up at the border thanks to a lady who made a phonecall but she thought if she shouts loud enough the voice will reach the receiver more better. I read 3 sentences from the Sherlock Holmes book and then we started talking. We reached Vienna in sunshine. Managed to get a bit lost but finally we reached our destination. Eszti forbid me to fold the map into half. :) And then quite cheerfully she called my attention to the fact I am going to get run over by the chug-chug train. We took some daylight shots of the Christmas fair in front of the Cityhall. And then we went to another one. Where I got gingerbread cookies from Eszti. Then we had a sit down and we made a “cookie monster gloves were here attacking the gingerbread” photoshot. :) The sun was still shining and I have to tell I really like my eyes on the photos. Starbucks next after wandering a bit in the shopping area. “Swinging is good” in Vienna at least we managed to declare. And then Starbucks. It was slowly getting dark so we walked back and wandered around the Christmas fair: I tried to take nice shots, we had mulled wine and then frozen we got onto the tram and underground towards our accommodation. Which was a simple but cool place. Eszti slept while I had a shower. And then soon we were ready to go.
the place was hideous and E. managed to step into a big barf on the way there, but about the rest of the good things: namely me drooling over Nick Haward, The lovely show Patrick gave to us(he must be good at reading minds), the 22 songs, and again Nick with a bass dressed smart, dancing, singing, eye-locking with Patrick 4 times ,grinning and singing so much my face hurt and the photos will follow tomorrow!
PATRICK WOLF was amazing!
Story to follow soon!
And NICK! <3
Today started like all the other morning shifts this week: “I do not want!“.
I knew wifey won’t come until later so I opened the shop as well and was about to ask boss who just arrived if we should turn the heater on to the crabs and turtles when he started to shout:
“look at those fucking bastards they escaped” “Fuck no ,all the mice are out, bollocks!”
We’ve managed to catch two of the Japanese dancing mice but all the others- 9 alltogether- were gone. Boss didn’t even know about the hamster that disappeared yesterday and who I suspected to see running across the scene in the morning.
Then owners came in and I had to start working while boss called wifey and my colleague using pretty colourful terms then finally deciding to start working before the whole waiting room gets filled up with patients. He managed to vaccinate a dog and started to talk to a pharmacology agent who protested and tried to tell him there were some other patients outside. But that’s what I am here for ,so that was ALL the job boss did today. Then my colleague arrived and the big mousehunt began. We’ve managed to catch 6 adults, and the hamster. I’ve spent an hour on my hands and knees or lying flat on my stomach so we could look under the shelves and chase the mice around. Later a youngster was found among the Japanese group, and in the afternoon Greg nearly smashed another while trying to catch it with a fishing net, so there’s only one mouse baby running free. Just to raise the spirit higher wifey arrived and brought her youngest in. She is a delightful, chippery, spoiled little girl who treats you like a servant. I ignored her all day but it’s quite difficult to work when she cries some wish in every 5 seconds: “Nora give me a pair of scissors”,”Look at my drawing is it nice?”, “Help me drawing something”, “Go there and bring me a…” –Will you kindly fuck off please?
At one point her mum came in and asked her to shut up at least.
By the time Greg arrived I could’ve scratched my own face off.
Later in the afternoon we got the whole family, all the kids. They luckily spent their time in the petshop torturing the rabbits and hedgehogs and they managed to set one of the mouse free. But we had a real mouse catcher routine by this point so we managed to deliver it back to safety in 2 minutes.
You can’t say life is boring around here, can you?
Anyway: only tomorrow to survive and then we are off to Vienna.
I am really excited about the gig: I have the perfect setlist on my mind, but I really would like to hear the Tinderbox, The Libertine, Bluebells, Damaris, and Magic position live. Also from the new album: Slow motion, The Days, The Future would be really nice. House and the City are almost compulsory. And some rock/disco from previous albums. Thanks.
I wonder in what state we would get to the gig after spending a lot of time at the Christmas markets with hot chocolate and mulled wine, and also Starbucks experience in the city! :)
Get ready for some crazy shots when we get back.
Have a good weekend
explaining this and that ,quite quick ,no coherent toughts.
uh, so a bit of review of the last 2-3 weeks.
I do not remember much about the days before I went away for a holiday. On Thursday of the Stressful week I took a day off. I had a HH(horrible housecall) before that on Wednesday. Euthanasia, at home, with a 4 years old kid jumping and cycling around asking what I was doing to their dog.
Te day off was fine, did absolutely nothing beside trying to catch up with myself, slept a lot and riding was fine with Apricot. Weekend was quite OK and I wasn’t working on Sunday because we had a national holiday. I only had a couple of days left before I could get home. My car went berserk and stopped without warning many times. So it became highly dangerous to risk a ride home. I gave it to the mechanic who pulled it apart and found nothing, moreover it worked for them fine, but it took me only 500 metres to break it down. So I had to go home by train. Work front: Tuesday had been hell, lots of cases, difficult ones, colleague’s dog being really sick, boss came in with his Danish friend and kids with them, he introduced me: I just washed hands after being bloody all over because of a vigorous cat so it was all awkward. And the next day he lashed out on us, because we were taking precious time from paying owners and instead I dared to take blood sample from colleague’s dog who had been really ill. And altogether we got a bit of boss talk on Wednesday because we have to learn the house order that we seem to keep breaking all the time. Silly stuff really. E. encouraged me to raise my voice and tell about my problems, which I did but also managed to screw up AGAIN so in the end she was bitter, I was devastated and boss was happy and confident how great he handled all the things. I couldn’t wait to get away but I still had Thursday morning ahead of me. E. took Szeti away with her on Wednesday afternoon which left me depressed and all weird because I had a nightmare the night before. And my last night had been really quiet apart from crying of depression, frustration and exhaustion.
I went home by train. I haven’t been on a longer train journey for like 3 years(apart from our Vienna experience).it was strange. Arrived home around 10pm, quick dinner and then bed. Next day we packed and went away for a relaxing Spa weekend. Well it was quite mixed. My mum didn’t relax too much she had like 200 tests to correct, my dad told me things that made me even more depressed and I really feel the urge to kick the BIL and shake my sister. The masseurs got shock because of the state of my back and shoulders. I’ve seen a man in the sauna in a thick wool hat and from Saturday on because it was the schoolbreak for kids the so far quite nice hotel became really crowded. Actually I like these Spa weekends as a retreat away from people. It was nice by the way just a bit noisy. I read the book I bought the previous weekend :The adventures of Sherlock Holmes(12 short stories).
I’ve seen One day in the cinema, It was good, shocking but good. Took J. with me and we managed to get to the film without any difficulties. :)
Before _I came back from the relaxing weekend I got to see my sister, BIL, Maja and Rosalie too. The kids were all right. Poor Rosie was all suspicious trying to figure out who I might be.
Came back by train. Overcrowded ,cold ,noisy.
The first day back in work was busy ,2nd day was OK and Friday got busy again. Luckily boss and co was out of town, and busy afternoons were with Greg.
Saturday morning we went out to the field for a dog walk. Weather was lovely, a bit windy maybe but fine, came home had some time for myself. In the afternoon I went to Eszti’s and we took the dogs for a walk, along the brook talking a bit about real life stuff and not about treatments, stupid owners and cases. We went back to her’s and her dad gave me my laptop back. He has mended it after I got a virus on the 1st day of the spa weekend, completely wrecking my hard drive. As we were talking I felt a headache coming but it became unbearable by te time I got home. I took some pills, took the dog out and fell into bed at 7pm! What a party animal I am! :) Sunday: dogwalk, Tintin, swimsuits.
Last week I got really attached to a dog. A cute little thing: owners: English-Hungarian couple. I managed to speak English in 60% of the afternoon. The little doggy was a fighter and a survivor before and he seemed to make this through too. Unfortunately at around 3 am in the morning I woke up to a voice telling the dog passed away. It was like I’ve dreamed it. I checked on my old one and saw she is sleeping deeply so I turned back and slept on. The next day I learned the dog died around 3 in the morning, just as I’ve dreamed.
Patrick Wolf gig is less than 3 weeks away and we do not have an accommodation so far, plus I don’t know how we gonna get there.
